TOUR STOP FIVE: A One-Night Stand in the ‘Burgh

GF Mobile Unit One is officially on the road. Destination: Pittsburgh. We really didn’t plan a long enough trip to the ‘Burgh. It was a short and sweet one-night-stand with the city that we are madly passionate about – without that embarrassing walk of shame.

During our short little tryst, we hosted a fun soiree at Elixir on the South Side (otherwise known as the Sah-side).  It was the perfect place to host the event because it was swanky, sassy and drew a chic crowd (not always easy to find in the ‘Burgh. Sorry, but it’s true! We think Jaromir Jagr started it.) We had lots of fun with the tattoos here … and had lots of women (and some dudes) show up to prep for the big Sunday night Steelers/Browns matchup, the GameFace way. But the highlight was finding a man who looked identical to our referee piñata mascot! (By the way, we really need a name for our mascot … Any ideas? The winner will get a GF tee and some other fun giveaways — so submit your suggestions to refpinata@gogamefacecom. Seriously. Do it. Right now. Here’s a little something to inspire you.)

So that’s it. That’s all we got. No late night stories of Ben Roethlisberger hooking up with co-eds. No crazy stories of late night Primanti Brothers sandwiches to soak up all those GameFace Martinis we consumed — provided by our pals at Effen Vodka, of course. We were efficient as the Steelers offense: We came, we put our GameFaces on, we conquered, and then prepared for our next destination. (But don’t worry fellow yinzers … we were left wanting much more than a one-night-stand, so we plan to return in October for a repeat performance — a follow-up booty call, if you will. We’re planning to be there the weekend of October 25-26 to see the Giants face the Stillers. So rest up. It’s going to be an action-packed weekend.)
